Carpinteria, California – Rincon Power, a leading innovator in advanced power management, is excited toannounce the latest addition to its product lineup – the RXR40 bi-directional contactor.
The RXR40 contactor is hermetically sealed with a ceramic header and gas-filled to provide unparalleled performance and protection against environmental hazards such as moisture, dust, and corrosive agents. This state-of-the art sealing method ensures reliable isolation of high voltage within a compact and robust ceramic enclosure.
The RXR40 was designed for high current interrupt capability and can safely open loads as high as 2,500A at 800V. It can also handle high short circuit currents up to 8,000A allowing time for a fuse to safely open and clear the fault condition. The single pole, single throw (SPST) normally-open design of the RXR40 comes standard with a AUX feedback circuit, allowing seamless integration into various applications including high voltage safety circuits, status feedback systems, or weld detection.
Engineered for high current carry, extremely low contact resistance, and minimal power loss, the RXR40 is ideal for power distribution in renewable energy systems, electric vehicle charging, industrial machinery, and many other critical applications. This 400A / 1500V bi-directional contactor joins Rincon Power’s extensive catalog of sealed high voltage contactors, relays, and manual disconnect switches.
“As battery technology continues to improve, the need for components that can handle short circuits as well as the ability to interrupt high current, becomes increasingly more important.” said Brian Munari, Business Development Manager at Rincon Power. “The RXR40 is ideal for those designing applications that are pushing the limits and are on the cutting-edge of next-gen electrification.”
